Running can make you happier. Not only does exercise affect the chemistry of your brain (increasing endorphins and improving neurogenesis) it also has the unique benefits of being both a social and an independent exercise.
There are a ton of running groups to talk to and share experiences with. These groups are always eager to share knowledge and help runners stay motivated and growing.
You can also run solo, alone in your thoughts, with the cadence of your footfalls helping you release the stress of the day.
Running also offers incredible variety. Obstacle Runs, Ulta Running, 5ks, Marathons, etc. We all have our favorites.
